On Wednesday, Oct 25, I went to the "Flash in T O" meeting.
Brendan Sera-Shriar's presentation on customized components showed how easy it was to make customized scroll bars and bouncing drop-down menus. Also, with only four lines of code he created multiple rotating objects of various sizes.
Tim Willison's presentation on design patterns showed how easy it was to create falling leaves, with simple codes for weight, direction and speed. It is autumn, after all.

Salomon #27: I cropped this out of a Salomon brochure to give much deserved special attention to their unique "Energyzer" (TM) releasable cuff. They claim that no one else makes it releasable. After checking 5 other companies (see my other blog posts), I am convinced they are right. According to page 14 in their brochure, it is "available on certain skates in the Motion range" which are classified as "leisure" (recreational) on their website.
Since I think that unique features are good for marketing, I will focus on the "recreational demographic" in my product tag. According to the assignment, it will be the "high end" market within that demographic.

Salomon #26 This is page 6 and 7 of the Salomon skate "after puchase" or "after market" instructions brochure. I showed the front cover of it in my blog's first entry on the Salomon project.
After investigating the Salomon website and the websites of their competitors I confirmed Salomon's claim that the "energyzer" releasable cuff is, in fact, a feature unique to Salomon. It is shown here on page 7, section "H." I will crop that to isolate it.

Salomon project #17: This is just an idea at its infancy stages which may end up on the cutting room floor. My slogan is at the top, but the below is quote from the Salomon web page on technology at http://www.salomoninline.com/caus/products/techno.asp?idr=10067 click on their "Energizer."
Salomon project # 16: Background Research
The project outline says “What the company wants is a creative tag that outlines the technologies.” After checking the Salomon website page on “technologies,” I learned that the one technology which Salomon claims is “unique” to their company is the “Energyzer” cuff. To quote Salomon, “The ‘releasable’ option on certain skates allows skaters to choose their flex according to their level . . .” It is adjustable. I checked the K2 website at http://www.k2skate.com/technology/default.asp?techid=9 K2 has five different types of cuffs, but none of them is adjustable. I also checked Nike, Mission, and CCM, and Rollerblade websites and they don’t have an adjustable cuff either.
Since the adjustable cuff is unique to Salomon, I think it is worth putting on the front page of our “technology product tag.”
